LibKi Computer Management
Starting in late October, Tipp City Public Library will change the way it manages the public computers. No longer will patrons be required to sign on to a computer by giving their name to a clerk at the desk.
Thanks to the addition of the LibKi Management System, patrons will sit down at a computer station and login with their library card and pin number. LibKi is an open source program available "cost free" to the library. This software has been on library computers across the country for years. It has proven to be reliable and user friendly.
When finished, patrons will simply logout. At that point, the computers will automatically erase any personal information previously entered. This assures users that their privacy is protected.
It is easy to get a Tipp City Public Library card. Visit the front desk and present proof of Ohio residency. Anyone wishing not to get a library card can still access the library's computers. A staff member will be happy to provide a guest pass upon request.
In the near future, the library will introduce computer reservations to ensure all patrons have an opportunity to logon - even on busy days.
Anyone with questions should call the library at (937) 667-3826 or visit us at 11 E. Main St.
