SUMMER 2024 TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The Library is looking for teen volunteers this summer. Click the link below to access our form, fill it out, and return to the library.

MONTHLY TEEN CLUBS

Are you in the 6th grade or higher this year? Are you excited to help us with events at the library? Would you like to have some input on what teen activities we have at the library? Then our Teen Advisory Group may be a great fit for you! Join us for our monthly TAG group meeting on the 2nd Thurs of the month. If you haven’t signed up to join yet, please follow this link to our form.

Are you interested in Anime and Manga? Do you love the art style? Do you want to meet others who share your interest? Then Anime Club is for you! Anime Club is a casual, social group that meets to watch a few episodes of Anime in the library, talk with others about our interests, and optionally learn to draw in the Manga style. Japanese snacks will be provided!

MONTHLY PROGRAMS

Have you ever wanted to make your own life-size lightsaber to use for Halloween or a Comic Book Convention? Now you can, using materials like fluorescent light guards, LED flashlights, shaped foam, and other materials. We’ll host a workshop on how to make your very own custom-made lightsaber with the blade color and hilt you design yourself! Restricted to 12 signups due to limited supplies. Those signing up after all spots are filled will be notified they’ve been placed on a wait list.

MONTHLY DIY ACTIVITIES

May the 4th be with you! We love Star Wars Day so much we want to celebrate it all month! Stop by the Teen Den to construct your own mini-lightsaber using a battery, LED light, straw, and electrical tape!

Try to solve an escape room-styled challenge based on the Enola Holmes films/books solo or with friends. Contest will be up all month so have fun at your own pace!

This month we’d love your ideas on what kind of programs and activities you’d like to see for teens. Make your opinion heard on our sound-off wall!

Every Friday from 3:00-5:30 PM we’ll have the Nintendo Switch out with our best multiplayer games for you and your fellow gamers. One participant must have a library card to get games at the Teen Den desk.

TEEN RESOURCES

6-12 GD TEACHER RESOURCES

If you would like a staff member to collect books, audiobooks, or movies for you on a particular theme, subject, or author, you will need to fill out a teacher collection request form two weeks in advance of when you want to pick-up the books.

Check out what we've been up to in the TEEN department lately!
