Build a Gingerbread House
Tuesday, December 17, from 4:30-5:30 PM in the Meeting Room downstairs
Children in grades 2-5 will design and construct a gingerbread house out of icing, graham crackers, cereal, and lots and lots of candy! Registration is required and is full. If you wish to be waitlisted, call the library at 937-667-3826.
LEGO Building Bash
Monday, December 30, from 1:00-2:30 PM in the Meeting Room downstairs for grades K-5
Join some friends at the library for LEGO building fun! We will start with one quick round of LEGO Pictionary followed by a snack. We’ll end with an hour of free build. Let your imagination go wild! Registration is required due to the snack. Register HERE before noon on Friday, December 27.
Contests & Creative Corners:
December 2-14: Guess the number of festive candies in the jar. The child who guesses closest to the actual number will win the candy.
December 9-21: Christmas Character Scavenger Hunt. If you find all of the characters hidden in the children’s area, you may claim a small prize at the main desk.
December 16-23: Creative Corner: Make an ornament for your tree.
December 26-January 4: Creative Corner: See if you can make the design pictured on the KEVA Brain Builders cards.

Baby Cuddle Time (6-17 months):
Mondays in the Children’s Area from 10:30-11:00 AM
Dates: Mondays, January 13, 20, 27 and February 3 and 10
For babies and an adult (parent, grandparent, or caregiver). Cuddle close with your baby and enjoy songs, rhymes, and stories together. Learn easy activities you can do with your baby at home to develop early literacy skills.
Registration is required. Limit 10 babies.
Toddler Tales (18-41 months):
Wednesdays in the Meeting Room from 9:30-10:15 or from 10:30-11:15 AM
Dates: Wednesdays, January 15, 22, 29 and February 5 and 12
For toddlers and an adult (parent, grandparent, or caregiver). Now that your child is moving and active, join us for stories, singing, dancing, and easy crafts that will help your toddler develop a love of books and reading.
Registration is required. Limit 15 toddlers in each session.
Preschool Story Hour (3 ½ years- 5 years):
Thursdays in the Meeting Room from 10:30-11:15 AM
Dates: Thursdays, January 16, 23, and 30 and February 6 and 13
Get your preschoolers ready to read by immersing them in wonderful stories that will engage them and get them excited about reading. This storytime includes chances for them to sing, play, talk, and make simple crafts. An adult is encouraged to attend with the child.
Registration is required. Limit: 18 preschoolers.

Day By Day Ohio is a customization of a project of the South Carolina State Library, developed in partnership with many agencies and organizations, and primarily funded by a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
